About your roasters

Geological Time Coffee was created by Mark and Nomita, a husband-and-wife team who share a deep love for specialty coffee, nature, and the beautiful patience found in the earth’s geological cycles. Just as rocks form through heat, pressure, and time — we believe great coffee is shaped by craft, care, and transformation.

Our roasting journey began in February 2025 with curiosity, late-night conversations, and a desire to create something meaningful together. We fell in love with specialty coffee not just for its flavors, but for the stories behind each bean — from volcanic soils to mountain slopes to the people who cultivate them with dedication.

We are a startup roastery, learning the art of roasting one batch at a time. We completed formal roasting school as an introduction to the science and craft, giving us the foundation to build our skills. Every roast is a step in our evolution, and we bring humility, excitement, and respect to the process.

 About Mark

Mark is the technical heart of Geological Time Coffee. A lifelong student of science and the natural world, he studied Geology at SUNY Potsdam, where his fascination with earth processes, minerals, and deep time took shape. Outside the roastery, Mark is an avid fossil and mineral hunter, always curious about the stories locked inside stone. Mark is a passionate hiker and has completed the Adirondack 46 High Peaks, Saranac 6er,  New Hampshire 48, New England 67, Northeast 111, and Catskill 3500 Clubs. Proudly sober, his recovery journey shapes the values of Geological Time Coffee—resilience, transformation, and moving forward with intention. From this philosophy came Rockcovery, our signature coffee that will be introduced soon, inspired by the strength it takes to rebuild life one grounded step at a time.

 About Nomita

Nomita grew up in Bangladesh in South Asia surrounded by a tea culture,  her love for coffee began while studying at AIUB Dhaka University. Her passion for coffee grew to explore roasteries, cafés, and plantations while traveling worldwide. With deep roots in nature and the land, she brings that connection to Geological Time Coffee. is the creative soul behind our brand. Inspired by nature, colors, culture, and the calming rhythm of the earth, she ensures our coffee feels warm, approachable, and full of heart. Her passion for people and connection shapes the experience we want our customers to feel: kindness, grounding, and authenticity in every cup.
