Sumatra Koperasi Organic Gayo
Tasting notes: Raisin, Hazelnut, Black Tea,
Deep, smooth, and unmistakably Sumatran.
Grown in the highlands of Aceh Tengah on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, this certified organic and Fair Trade coffee comes from the Koperasi Cooperative and dedicated smallholder farms. The coffee is cultivated at approximately 1,400 meters, where the region’s mountain climate and fertile soil help develop its distinctive character.
Using Sumatra’s traditional wet-hulled process—known locally as Giling Basah—the coffee develops a rich, earthy depth with a smooth medium body and balanced acidity. In the cup, expect inviting notes of dark chocolate, brown sugar, and earthy spice.
Bold enough to stand up beautifully in a latte or cappuccino, yet smooth enough to enjoy black, this versatile coffee is excellent as drip, pour-over, French press, or espresso.
